The monk was already inside, before anyone ever saw him. Nineteen sixty-six. Pontefract, England. And he was not there to pray.
Thirty East Drive. Joe and Jean Pritchard found pools of water on the kitchen floor, no leak, no source. White powder fell. Then the banging.
Furniture crashed over. A grandfather clock was hurled down the stairs. The taps spewed thick green foam.
Their daughter was dragged up the stairs by her hair, in front of witnesses. Scratches appeared, and some spelled a word. If it wanted them gone… why stay silent?
Then came the shape, a tall figure in a black monk's habit. A Cluniac monk, hanged for his crimes centuries earlier. Investigators came. None could debunk it.
