The documented facts

  • Shortly after midnight on November 15, 1966, two couples reported a winged man-sized figure with red eyes at the TNT area outside Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
  • The Point Pleasant Register published their account the next day; the name Mothman came later from an Ohio copy editor.
  • The Silver Bridge fell into the Ohio River on December 15, 1967, killing 46; the NTSB found a fractured eyebar, no supernatural cause.
  • The sighting wave ended after the collapse; no evidence links the creature to the bridge failure.

The full narration

It had no head. Just two red eyes, burning from its chest. Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Nineteen sixty-six.

Two couples drove past the old TNT factory, and it dropped from the sky. Ten feet tall. It chased their car at a hundred miles an hour... and kept up.

Dozens more saw it. Red eyes at bedroom windows. On the bridge. Then December came, and the Silver Bridge folded into the river. Forty-six souls, gone.

The last sighting was the night before. Warning, or witness? If it came to save them... why let them fall?

Every autumn, the reports return. The same red eyes. The same empty space where a head should be. Point Pleasant never stopped looking back.

Stitch this video if you'd drive the TNT road at midnight. Follow for a new true nightmare every day. Sleep with the lights on, if you can.

Dramatized for the telling. The facts above are documented; the narration is the Draugr’s retelling of them.
