Episode 22
The Lead Masks of Vintem Hill

The documented facts
- On August 20, 1966, a boy found two men lying side by side on Vintem Hill above Niteroi, Brazil, each wearing a homemade lead mask.
- The men were electronics technicians Manoel Pereira da Cruz and Miguel Jose Viana, last seen alive on August 17, 1966.
- A notebook in one coat pocket gave timed instructions in Portuguese: be there at 4:30 PM, swallow capsules at 6:30 PM, await the signal.
- Delayed autopsies made toxicology impossible; no cause of death was ever established and the case was never solved.
The full narration
Two men climbed a hill in Brazil, and were found wearing lead masks over their eyes. August, nineteen sixty-six. Vintem Hill.
No wounds. No poison. Raincoats over suits, and a note in the pocket. "Protect your face. Wait for the signal."
They'd bought the masks days before. A waitress watched them drink water, nervous, waiting. They'd tried this once already, and failed.
Whatever they were waiting for on that hill... it came back for them. Sixty years on, the case is still unsolved. So tell me, what were those masks protecting them FROM?
Smugglers. UFOs. A ritual gone wrong. Every theory collapses. The hill keeps its secret, and the masks never did.
Stitch this video if you'd climb Vintem Hill and put on the mask. Follow for a new true nightmare every day. Sleep with the lights on, if you can.
Dramatized for the telling. The facts above are documented; the narration is the Draugr’s retelling of them.
